Lot 56: CD 144 {Unembossed} [010] Color: Aqua Description: {"Foree Bain" style} This unembossed insulator utilized Foree Bain's patent of December 23, 1890. The patented ridges were designed to reduce conduction on the outer surface when the insulator was wet. These could almost be considered horizontal drip points. The inside of skirt also has horizontal ridges that run from the base to the pinhole. The price guide lists this insulator as having a smooth base, although the base also has ridges. A few areas of chipping on the sharp ridge at the base, a few nibbles here and there on the skirt. Estimate: $150 - $200 Open: $1 Price Realized: $297 |
