Lot 52: CD 143 {Unembossed} {Canada} [100] Color: Light Green Description: {Withycombe - 14 circular rings above and 10 left hand spiral ridges below wire groove} This is one of the "Withycombe" styles. Frederick Withycombe patented a number of variations on ridges and other projections, all with the same intent: to better "withstand the impact of foreign bodies" and thereby reduce the likelihood of breakage." This "Withycombe" insulator has circular rings above the wire groove and left-hand spiral ridges below the wire groove. 1 1/4" square and 1/2" square areas of flaking on the lower ridges, some minor flaking here and there.
