Lot 161: SI 162 BROOKFIELD "Salesman's Sample" {CD 162 style} [010] Color: Light Aqua Description: This is typically found with weaker embossing, but this is boldly embossed on the front with "BROOKFIELD" and on the rear with "STANDARD." It is more weakly embossed on the crown with "WESTERN" and "ELEC.CO." These were produced by Brookfield. They are referred to as "salesman's samples" in the hobby but their real purpose is not known; perhaps they were promotional items. 1/2" chip on the rear that does not affect any embossing nor is it visible from the front. This is quite a small insulator, only 1 1/4" tall. A great go-with for the Brookfield collector! Estimate: $100 - $150 Open: $1 Price Realized: $154 |
