Lot 44: CD 135 CHICAGO INSULATING CO. [020] Color: Blue Description: This is the "shoulder-embossed" variant of the "Fiske & Mott" insulator, as the "CHICAGO" style was known in the trade, as these were the men who patented it. The diamond cutouts were designed to minimize the contact of the tie wire with the insulator, in theory reducing the leakage. Several flakes on the shoulder and a few dings and scuffs here and there.
