An amazing account of the Atlantic cable connecting Great Britain to the United States. Fold-out color map of the route of the cable. A fantastic technical account of the laying of the cable. Some illustrations. A couple of pages are missing, but there are no folds or tears. However, the book had gotten wet, so there are water stains on most of the pages. More than a dozen illustrations.
