Lot 135: CD 723.3 {Unembossed} [010] Color: Blue Description: This is known as the "Smooth Wade" style. These early threadless insulators were produced around the 1860s and were designed for use with a wooden "shield" to prevent "Indian depredations", as reported in trade journals.
