Lot 117: CD 285 "Edison" {Unembossed} [010] Color: Blue Description: This insulator has the trade name of the "Edison". An urban legend in the hobby reports that it got its name because its bulbous dome resembles a light bulb. The smooth contours create a shape that's pleasing to the eye. These were used extensively in the Bangor - Ellsworth area of Maine, and a number of units have been discovered there over the years. 1/2" square and a 1/2" by 1" rough factory lehr kiss on either side of the dome, 1/2" square flake on the skirt. Always a popular style! Estimate: $150 - $200 Open: $1 Current Bid: $170 |
