Lot 31: CD 127.4 DEC. 19, 1871 [010]  Color: Blue Aqua  Description: Note the "DEC. 19, 1871" embossing indicating this insulator was made by Hemingray. No doubt, one of the first embossed pieces Hemingray made. The unembossed examples such as those in lot 33 and BR3343 are uncommon, and these embossed units are rare! 1" square base chip to the rear of the right mold line, a little flaking on the sharp edge of the inside of the skirt, otherwise about very near mint. A key piece for the telegraph insulator or Hemingray collector!
Estimate: $1,000 - $1,250  Open: $1
