Lot 140: CD 248/311/311 HEMINGRAY [010] Color: Aqua w/ Amber Sleeves Description: A "bucket list" piece for the power or Hemingray collector! The Amber bases are believed to have been used as replacements for the standard Aqua units. The regular view doesn't do it justice. Be sure to look at the large view! On the CD 248, there are a couple of small dings and a crease that folds under, creating a factory annealing line. The first sleeve has a 1" bruise with a fracture that radiates 1 1/2" up on the vertical part of the sleeve and 1" out on the bell as shown in view 2. Note, it does not extend to the base of the bell. This could be caused by a lightning flashover. The second sleeve is in excellent condition. The pin is cut off above near the top of the bottom bell. Also included are two rubber gaskets to place between the bells. Out west at an insulator show, someone was selling a set like this (condition unknown) for $4,000. It sold in an instant!
