Lot 118: CD 263 COLUMBIA [040] Color: Dark Aqua w/ Amber Swirls Description: Normally, these are just a mundane Aqua color; however, this example is especially unusual in that it has a significant amount of amber in the ears. The large ears on this style amplify the swirls. 1/2" open bubble on the front skirt, a little roughness on the inner skirt, 1/4" shallow flake on the ear in the rear, 1/8" ding between the ears. All that pales in comparison to the amber in the ears, which will immediately catch your eye! This insulator is embossed with the trade name "Columbia" as well as Samuel Oakman's May 12, 1891 patent for "tie eyes," the feature that makes the Columbia style so unique!
