View:  Main (LargeView 2 (Large)
Lot 146: CD 731 TILLOTSON & CO. [010]  Color: Cobalt Blue Blackglass  Description: This stunning color can be seen when you look through one thickness of the skirt! The crown-embossed "TILLOTSON" variant is much less common than its unembossed counterpart. Luther Tillotson was a superintendent of telegraph for The New York and Erie Railroad and ran a telegraph and railroad supplies business in New York. CD 731 was known as a "Compromise style" insulator, combining the best features of the "egg" and the "hat" styles. [  UPDATE: This insulator came from the shipwreck, and there is a creamy colored line around the insulator where the fracture is. It does not appear to be reglued. 1/4" flake on the base.]
Estimate: $400 - $500  Open: $1
