CD 134 DIAMOND P, Green; A classic New England piece!
View:  Main (LargeView 2 (Large)
Lot 64: CD 134 DIAMOND P [010]  Color: Green  Description: A classic New England piece! Diamond P embossed insulators are often found in pastel shades, so this is an uncommonly bright color. A few little scuffs and dings here and there, a bruise at the base of the threads, otherwise factory mint. There is a 1/4" square "groove" running the width of the base which is an open bubble. Several other open bubbles are on the base and inside of the skirt. It is likely that the "P in a diamond" logo refers to James Pennycuick, who designed a unique method for "forming screw threads on glass" while leaving the plunger in place during annealing. The date of his patent, August 11, 1885, is embossed on the rear. Many Pennycuick products are crude, and this insulator has its crudeness in the form of bubbles on the base!
