Lot 30: CD 116 A.U. [020] Color: Aqua Description: This CD style is getting tougher to acquire. The "MAY 2 1893" date and the mold line around the crown make it easy to attribute this insulator to Hemingray. None of the variations of this style are actually embossed "A.U." (American Union) but there are many examples with "A.U." blotted out. It is possible that this style was produced by modifying a CD 121.4 mold that had been embossed "A.U." Two missing drip points, 1/8" wire ridge flake, a few little dings here and there. Neat "prism style" embossing with the "loopy 2!" Estimate: $150 - $200 Open: $1 Price Realized: $198 |
