Lot 90: CD 149 BROOKFIELD Color: Light Aqua Description: The embossed "Burbrook" insulators are much harder to find than their unembossed counterparts. Great condition! No damage to the upper or lower wire ridges. A little scuffing in the wire groove and a 1/8" open bubble on the base. The 1907 Stuart-Howland Catalogue calls this insulator the "'Burbrook' Extra Deep Groove Double Petticoat." The deep groove indicates these might have been used on insulated low or medium voltage electric lines. The origin of this name, whether person or place, is unknown.
