Lot 199: Pond's Wooden Insulator  Color: Speckled Black and Cream  Description: Unusual cream "specking" on the dome. This early and unusual telegraph insulator was patented on January 23, 1872, by Chester H. Pond. Pond's design encompasses a wooden insulator with a metal shield on the dome to protect it from weather and wire abrasion. The wood is in good condition except for about a 3/4" x 1" area missing in the rear. An interesting and odd telegraph style insulator.
