Lot 175: CD 723.3 {Unembossed} Color: Blue w/ Amber Swirls Description: This is in very nice condition for a "Smooth Wade" insulator! Some typical annealing lines in the pinhole and a little haze on the surface. These early threadless insulators were produced around the 1860s and were designed for use with a wooden "shield" to prevent "Indian depredations", as reported in trade journals.
