Lot 97: CD 134 DIAMOND P  Color: Deep Green Aqua  Description: 3/8" and 1/4" wire ridge flakes, an area of scuffing on the dome, hard to see 1" fracture inside the pinhole. It is likely that the "P in a diamond" logo refers to James Pennycuick, who designed a unique method for "forming screw threads on glass" while leaving the plunger in place during annealing. The date of his patent, August 11, 1885, is embossed on the rear. There's good clarity in the glass, which is uncommon in "Diamond P" insulators, highlighting the bright coloration.
Estimate: $400 - $500  Open: $10
