Lot 108: CD 142 HEMINGRAY // TS_2 Color: Carnival w/ Copper Liner Description: Very, very near mint. In an attempt to eliminate interference, several different styles of specially treated insulators were developed by Hemingray for the Western Union Telegraph Company, including CD 118, CD 142.4, and this style. An iridized coating of tin and iron was used with the intent to reduce water adherence. This is the less common [030] embossing variant with "TS_2" blotted out on the front skirt.
