Lot 175: CD 718 {Unembossed} Color: Olive Blackglass Description: A little base roughness, overall pretty good condition for this "Egg" style. UPDATE: after very close examination, it appears the dome has been expertly repaired and is all resin. A light clear coat was applied down to the wire groove to smooth out the repair. A blacklight can be used to highlight repairs. The result of viewing this under blacklight is shown in view 3. Note that the color is much more of a mustard yellow than is shown here, but you can clearly see exactly what was done. This is using an inexpensive blacklight you can buy at pet stores for $20 or so. Various glass houses in the US and Canada produced a number of mold variants of this sytle. This one is quite short, being only 3 1/2" tall, so it will contrast well in your 718 lineup! Estimate: $100 - $200 Open: $10 Price Realized: $77 |
