|Lot 8: CD 133.2 L.A.C / PATD JULY 25TH 1865 / P & W Color: Blue Aqua w/ Massive Amber Streaks Description: Excellent condition! Very minor high point scuffing that is easily overlooked. We could tell you that this insulator has characteristics to indicate manufacture by the Beaver Falls Glass Company, founded in 1869 on the outskirts of Pittsburgh and that there has not been a definitive answer to the meaning of the "P & W," but are you going to bother to read that when you see an insulator like this? An absolutely amazing series of thick bands of amber flow up from the skirt to the pinhole. An enclosed bubble can be seen to the left of the heavy strands. When viewed from the front, you can still see an abundance of amber in the piece. The insulator itself is uncommon; its wonderful condition, combined with the quantity of heavy amber, make this a truly outstanding piece! Given the interest in character pieces like this, it is difficult to place an estimate on it, but it's certainly worth fighting for!|
