Lot 5: CD 680 "T-Bar" {Spain}  Color: Dark Red Amber  Description: {Unembossed} 3/8" flake off the top of one ear, otherwise incredible condition! This is likely the first red "T-Bar" that came into the hobby from Spain. We believe there might only be 5-6 known. See its Straw counterpart in lot 4. In October 1997, Marilyn Albers had a sales list selling the straw piece in lot 4 for a price of $400. Her comment on the sales list was "CD 680's are super rare insulators found only on the Island of Majorca. They are very old but no longer being used, so they have been scraped and replaced with modern installations. If you like foreign glass, don't miss the chance to own one of these jewels because you may not see another one for sale. I know what I'm talking about because I was there in '90 and '93 and heard the story firsthand." We believe this applies equally to these Dark Red Amber ones. This could be the "Emminger's" (see lot 1) holy grail for the "foreign" collector. The combination of style, color, condition and rarity perhaps makes it the most desirable foreign insulator there is. This is as good as it gets!
