Lot 153: CD 263 PATENTED JUNE. 17. 1890 Color: Aqua Description: Easily grades very near mint, some light base scuffing indicates it might have been used for a door stop. Nice "micro bubble" trails can be seen in both ears. Samuel Oakman's June 17, 1890 patent was for "tie eyes." Note that this is the much less common embossing variant that does not include the May 12, 1891 patent date for the "tie eyes". See lot 154 for the CD 262 Columbia variant; what a pair!
