Lot 151: CD 204 LOCKE  Color: Light Aqua  Description: 1 1/4" base repair; the area above the upper wire ridge has been reconstructed in resin; displays very well. Here we have a rare CD in the transposition family! Produced by Hemingray for F.M. Locke, it was patented with a reference to a “multiplicity of petticoats” and Locke claimed that the differing circumferences was what made his design unique and superior. Unfortunately this fragile design was too prone to damage, and there aren’t very many that survived intact. In comes the CD 202 with a much stronger design. The CD 204 is quite a desirable piece for the CD, transposition or Hemingray collector to get in any condition! (#7098)
