CD 1038 CUTTER, Aqua w/ Amber and "Milk"; Microbubble trail and amber highlights!
View:  Main (LargeView 2 (Large)
Lot 168: CD 1038 CUTTER [030]  Color: Aqua w/ Amber and "Milk"  Description: {Ribbed base} This is an unusual style, and this example is quite interesting because it has a microbubble trail that runs from the base and over the top of the arch. You can see some amber in the glass, especially at the end of the arch. This design was patented by Scott C. Cutter on April 26, 1904 as a tree insulator, and it bears the embossing "CUTTER PAT APR. 26, 04". These often have significant chipping and flaking on the sides and along the long, sharp edge of the base, but this one is in quite good condition and better than many. Given the condition and unusual coloration, this is a very desirable example of this early non-pintype style!
