Lot 131: SI 162 MCLAUGHLIN [010] Color: White Milk w/ Various Color Swirls Description: This is a stunning example of the colorful swirls that these commemorative insulators are known for! One can easily see blue, yellow, red and brown swirls. They run up and over the dome but zigzag in the wire groove and continue to the base. In 1972 William McLaughlin built a small glass factory in his garage, where he made commemorative insulators to celebrate the 75th anniversary of his start in the glass business. Each one of these insulators is unique, as they were produced in a variety of swirled and slag glass colors. Just look at the array of colors in the swirl that runs around the front of the insulator and around the dome, ending in a zigzag on the skirt!
