Lot 9: CD 134 PATENT DEC. 19, 1871 Color: Deep Yellow Olive Green Description: Bold embossing, which is less commonly seen on these pieces. About three 1/4" flakes on each of the wire ridge and the base. A little roughness here and there. We wanted to be sure of the color of this, so we compared it to a Yellow Olive Green insulator (see lot 30) and a CD 134 Olive Green "1871" that we had hanging around. Hmmm... not olive green, not yellow olive green! We took a group shot of all three pieces and in Photoshop were able to merely darken the Yellow Olive Green piece to get an exact color match with this. Thus, we are very comfortable calling this "Deep Yellow Olive Green." If you are lucky enough to own an Olive Green example, this will fit nicely in your line up. If you are looking for an insulator in either of those tough green colors, this is for you! CD 134 and "1871" collectors take note! Estimate: $3,500 - $4,500 Open: $1 Price Realized: $2,750 |
